About the Area
Downtown is Albuquerque’s civic and entertainment core: the Central Avenue bar and restaurant strip between 1st and 8th, the KiMo Theatre, Civic Plaza, the Convention Center, and the Alvarado Transportation Center where the Rail Runner and city buses meet. Caviland sits just north of that core in the Wells Park / Sawmill corridor, which means quick in-and-out parking instead of hunting for a meter on Central.
Visiting from Out of Town?
Any adult 21 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID from any state or country can buy recreational cannabis in New Mexico. No medical card, no residency, no appointment.
Bring cash or a debit card (credit cards are not accepted at New Mexico dispensaries; there is an ATM on site). Consumption is prohibited in public places, in vehicles, and in most hotel rooms, so edibles and vapes are the practical choice for a stay. Cannabis cannot leave New Mexico or go through airport security. New to cannabis? Read Cannabis for Beginners first, and start with 2.5–5 mg if you choose an edible.
